Blake's stop against Dempsey named October's Save of the Month

Andre Blake's final two months were filled with highlight-reel saves, but there were perhaps none bigger than his save against Clint Dempsey in the Union's 2-0 win against Seattle Sounders FC.

The Union were leading 1-0 in the match in the 62nd minute, and Dempsey entered the match minutes ago, immediately giving the Sounders an offensive spark. Seattle had the ball in the box and took a shot, which was naturally blocked by Jack Elliott. The ball found its way to Dempsey, who had a clear shot at the top of the box.

Dempsey ripped a scorching shot right on net, and Blake was forced to make a huge diving save.
