Steel FC inks Philadelphia Union Academy product Selmir Miscic to first professional contract
Bethlehem Steel FC announced today that the club has signed midfielder Selmir Miscic (pronunciation: SELL-meer MISS-chich) to his first professional contract. A 15-year-old midfielder from Royersford, Pennsylvania, Miscic becomes the youngest signing in the club’s history and the fourth member from the Philadelphia Union Academy to turn professional with Steel FC. The deal is pending league and federation approval.
“Selmir is a young player from our Academy who has impressed at every level,” said Chris Albright, Union Technical Director. “Our mission as a club is to provide opportunities for young players like Selmir to progress and succeed, and he has proven that he is ready for this step.
