Philadelphia Union Academy grad Issa Rayyan will not be staying at Duke University, after all.
The 2018 ACC Freshman of the Year has agreed to terms on a Bethlehem Steel FC contract, forgoing his final three seasons with the Blue Devils to return to the organization he joined at the age of 14 from Michigan.
The Steel announced the signing on Tuesday.
“We are very excited about signing Issa to the Steel,” Union Sporting Director Ernst Tanner said in a news release. “Issa has an awareness and excellent technical skill on the ball and we are happy to add another young prospect to the Steel.
