Andre Blake had already corralled one blistering shot from Cristian Penilla when the winger tested him in the second half of Saturday night’s match. A buzzing rip from the center of the pitch just outside the box had popped Blakes’ mitts, foreshadowing the more difficult test that was to come.
It arrived from a oddly-angled crossfield ball by Juan Agudelo. The pass cut behind most of the Union back line but in front of Keegan Rosenberry, who then had to face up Penilla inside the box. The winger shifted the ball onto his right foot, and as he uncorked his shot, both Rosenberry and Jack Elliott thrust legs out to block.
