This past Saturday, Philadelphia Union opened their 2018 campaign with a 2-0 win over New England Revolution at Talen Energy Stadium. In the match, there were several key achievements unlocked and many first starts for the young squad.
Homegrown midfielder Anthony Fontana earned his first MLS regular-season debut, appearing in the Starting XI and notched his first career goal in the 43rd minute of play.
Homegrown defender Auston Trusty also made his debut in the starting lineup. Trusty came up big for Philadelphia on the defensive side of the ball and was able to keep New England off the board with a bold tackle in the box to preserve the shutout.
