Reto Ziegler escaped punishment for his kick out on Fafa Picault last week and so far has escaped the MLS Disciplinary Committee too.
The veteran defender was back in the starting lineup for FC Dallas and scored the eventual game-winner in the 60th minute from the penalty spot in a 2-1 win over the Portland Timbers on Saturday.
Ziegler kicked out at Picault while on the ground, making contact with his midsection after the two collided going for a cross from Kai Wagner in front of the goal. No foul was given and Ziegler continued on in the game, which the Union ended up winning 2-1 with a pair of late goals that canceled out Ziegler’s free kick goal in the first half.
