The Union will face a familiar opponent in the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup, as the team will face Harrisburg City Islanders, Philadelphia's former USL affiliate. 2012: Union win 5-2

Union earned its 5-2 victory in the quarterfinals over Harrisburg. Freddy Adu opened up scoring in the 6th minute with a penalty-kick goal, and three minutes later, Jack Mclnerney scored another. Lionard Pajoy added another goal in the 29th minute and again in the 69th minute.
