Philadelphia Phillies right-hander Zack Wheeler, as expected, has been named an All-Star for the first time in his career, as he has put together one of the most dominant first halves in franchise history.
J.T. Realmuto has also been named to his third All-Star game in the last four years. He’ll serve as the National League’s reserve at catcher.
While his numbers on offense and defense are down relative to previous years, Realmuto is still having a solid season. He ranks sixth in fWAR among catchers (1.9) despite missing time earlier in the year due to injury.
