PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — For the first time ever, the Philadelphia Phillies will play against the Philadelphia Phillies.
The big league club will play against the “futures” on Thursday in Reading, PA and then again on Saturday, April 2nd at Citizens Bank Park. On Wednesday, the roster for the future team was announced.
21-year-old righty Zach Eflin will get the start on Thursday at 6:05 p.m. in Reading. Eflin was acquired by the Phillies in the Jimmy Rollins trade, before the 2015 season. Right-hander Mark Appel 25, who was acquired in the Ken Giles deal this past December, will follow Eflin on Thursday.
