You’re never gonna keep me down: Phillies vs. Padres series preview

San Diego Padres Record 37-38 (.493) Second place NL West (8.0 GB)

Philadelphia Phillies Record 47-24 (.662) First place NL East

Whence last they met

In April the Phillies rolled into San Diego after splitting a four-game series in Cincinnati. At the time the Padres were 14-14 which was good enough for second place in the NL West, and second place is where they continue to sit today. The Phillies swept the series and managed to provide plenty of entertainment in the final game in which Taijuan Walker made his season debut and Bryson Stott enjoyed his first multi-homer game of 2024.
