PHILADELPHIA -- For most of a gray and damp Sunday afternoon, the Phillies' offense spun its wheels in the mud whenever it had offensive chances.
It took Nick Williams to tow them out of the rut with a mighty blast. Williams smacked a pinch-hit three-run homer with two outs in the bottom of the sixth, lifting the Phillies to a 4-2 win over the Mets in the finale of a rain-shortened series at Citizens Bank Park.
Williams -- who has been relegated to the bench and made just three starts in May -- took a hanging 2-1 slider from Mets reliever Paul Sewald and smashed it deep into the bleachers in right-center.
