Williams stepped to the plate with the bases loaded and no outs in the top of the sixth inning after Maikel Franco, Andrew Knapp, and Tommy Joseph all reached safely with singles. The Brewers decided to call on lefty Tyler Webb to face Williams, who went into the game hitless in just two plate appearances against lefties with a strikeout.
That didn’t matter. Williams got the pitch he wanted on Webb’s first throw and hit the ball to deep center field for his first grand slam of his career.
Jeremy Hellickson went five innings, giving up two runs on four hits with six strikeouts.
