Why did it have to be snakes: Diamondbacks 11, Phillies 1

The Phillies offense went 0-8 with runners in scoring position and Aaron Nola lasted just five innings in an 11-1 loss in Arizona. Philadelphia had numerous opportunities to score but couldn’t break through while Nola allowed four runs and two home runs. The Diamondbacks jumped all over Yunior Marte in the seventh to fully put the game out of reach. Jake McCarthy finished the day with a pair of home runs and 4 RBIs.

Missed chances

Things started quickly for the Phillies offense, as they had the bases loaded with one out following a Kyle Schwarber walk, a Bryce Harper infield single, and Alec Bohm reaching on an error in the first inning.
