The dust has settled from Monday's hiring of Andy MacPhail, who will be a special assistant for the Phillies until current president, Pat Gillick, retires at the end of the season and MacPhail assumes his duties.
While it's clear who will be making some tough calls come the offseason, it's not as cut and dry for the next few months.
Principle owner John Middleton made it known that Gillick will be in "full organizational control" until October, but the timing of MacPhail's hiring creates an odd situation.
