The end of spring training is coming and with that comes a lot of decisions. The Phillies are similar to many clubs in that they have players out of minor league options that they have to make a decision on as to whether they want to keep them on the initial roster or risk exposing them to waivers. The way the process works is that if a player is out of those minor league options and won’t make the Opening Day roster, they’ll have to be put on waivers for other teams to study. If that player is claimed, the team loses the player for nothing.
