PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — This bit of news might be FAR from a surprise this holiday this holiday season, but it appears that former Phillies closer Jonathan Papelbon has no intention of coming back to Philadelphia — to pitch for the Phillies that is.
According to an ESPN report, Papelbon has submitted his 17 team no-trade list to the Nationals, locking in which teams Papelbon cannot be shipped to without his consent.
Among those 17 teams is the Philadelphia Phillies.
Does Papelbon really have anything to worry about though? It seems like he made a list, but definitely didn’t check it twice.
