Still chasing down his dream to return to the big leagues, Ryan Howard got to dust off the home run trot so many Phillies fans grew to love during his time punishing pitchers in Citizens Bank Park.
Howard hit a walk-off homer for the Albuquerque Isotopes in the first game of a doubleheader. It was his second home run with the Isotopes.
Howard is batting .222 with four doubles, six RBIs, and 11 strikeouts in 36 plate appearances. Barring a call-up, Howard’s season will end Sept. 4 against the Reno Aces.
