Vince Velasquez is not sure how he will feel on Monday night when he takes the mound against the team that traded him away, but the Phillies pitcher tried to keep his emotions in check as he neared his start against the Houston Astros.
“A trade is a trade. You can’t do anything about it,” said Velasquez, who joined the Phillies in December 2015. “I’m not going to be like, ‘Well, you traded me and this is what you lost.’ It’s not a boyfriend-girlfriend situation. This is baseball. But again, it’s one of those things where it’s an old team and I’m going to try to be dominant.
