MIAMI -- The Phillies have been saying for some time that they have plenty of time to make a run to pass the first-place Braves in the National League East.
But following a 3-1 loss to the Marlins in Monday's Labor Day matinee at Marlins Park, the Phillies still trail the Braves by at least four games. Each team has 25 games to play. If the Braves finish 13-12, the Phillies would have to go 17-8 just to tie them. Philadelphia plays Atlanta seven times in its final 11 games, but the Braves own a 7-5 advantage this season, suggesting both clubs have matched up well.
