MILWAUKEE - The Phillies' lineup on Sunday afternoon was missing its two best hitters. It seemed to be without much of a pulse, too. The team's offense was lifeless in a 6-1 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers at Miller Park.
Chase Utley was given the day off as trade rumors continued to swirl. Maikel Franco missed his fourth straight game with a sore right wrist. Both players should return to the lineup on Tuesday, unless Utley is traded.
The Phillies struck out 11 times. Their lone run came on a ninth-inning homer by Andres Blanco. Cesar Hernandez, Odubel Herrera, and Cody Asche each whiffed twice.
