CINCINNATI - Chase Utley appeared to turn a corner in mid-May, when he began a hot streak that persisted through the first game of this month.
Lately, though, Utley's struggles at the plate have resurfaced. In a 5-2 loss to the Cincinnati Reds Wednesday at Great American Ball Park, the Phillies' veteran second baseman was hitless in three more at-bats, extending his latest drought to 0 for 21.
Utley, who raised his average .108 points to .207 over 22 games from May 9 and June 2, will enter this weekend's series in Pittsburgh batting a National League-worst .
