To commemorate the 70th anniversary of Jackie Robinson breaking Major League Baseball's color barrier, Bill White, a trailblazer in his own right, was more than happy to pay tribute to the former Brooklyn Dodgers Hall of Famer.
"If not for Jackie Robinson, I wouldn't be there talking to you," White said on Saturday during the Black History and Culture Showcase at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
Robinson was among the many African Americans from all walks of life celebrated at the event, and White was a guest speaker.
White's first year in the majors was 1956 with the San Francisco Giants, which was Robinson's final season.
