San Francisco Giants Record 27-27 (.500) Third place in the NL West; 5.5 GB
Philadelphia Phillies Record 38-16 (.704) First place in the NL East
Since last they met
It was only a few weeks ago these teams last faced off. The Giants rolled into Citizens Bank Park for a four-game series with Jordan Hicks, Logan Webb, and Keaton Winn prepared to shut down the red hot Philadelphia offense. The outcome was better than the Phillies could have hoped for: they delivered to San Francisco a four-game sweep, only the Giants’ second of the season (the first coming at the hands of the Dodgers), and San Fran hobbled out of Philly with a 15-21 record.
