In 2019 Bryce Harper signed the richest contract in MLB history. He and the Phillies pledged themselves to each other, in sickness and in health, through 2031. Five years later, not only is he living up to the $25 million per year expectations but with free agency contracts trending the way they are it seems the Phillies may have gotten a huge deal.
Aaron Judge will cost the Yankees $360 million through 2031, Shohei Ohtani will cost the Dodgers $700 million through 2033, and last week the Mets pledged an astonishing $765 million to Juan Soto through 2039.
