After the Phillies rallied in the late innings on Monday afternoon to earn a win in the home opener, today, the Phillies will follow that up on Tuesday by...not playing.
Like many non-dome teams across baseball, the Phillies typically have an off day the day after the home opener. This is done so that if there’s inclement weather on the day of the opener, they can just push the game back and not cheat the fans who specifically purchased tickets for Opening Day.
I understand the reasoning, but it also seems like the open date might make the team more aggressive in postponing.
