It is interesting that we have gotten to the seventeenth spot on the Phillies top prospect list and we are just now getting a left handed pitcher.
Graves looks like a solid prospect, one with limited upside, but also one that cannot simply be dismissed out of hand. He can make a good back of the rotation case for himself, taking up a spot start or two if needed in the next few seasons. As the Phillies’ core of pitching starts to age out, they’ll need some young pitchers filling in and Graves can be one of them in the next five years.
