Starting pitchers get roughed up as Dodgers take game, series from Phillies

PHILADELPHIA — It was not a day to be a starting pitcher at Citizens Bank Park.

The Phillies' David Buchanan and the Dodgers' Zack Greinke combined to give up 13 runs on 17 hits and neither made it past the sixth inning.

The main difference between the two was that Greinke helped himself by going 3-for-3 at the plate with three runs scored and a home run in a 10-8 Dodgers' win over the Phillies in Thursday afternoon's series finale. The three-game series was the first series since the All-Star Break the Phillies lost.

Buchanan allowed three runs before the Phillies ever stepped up to bat and gave up at least one run in three of the four innings he pitched.
