The Phillies will name Matt Klentak as their new general manager, according to multiple baseball sources. Klentak had previously worked with Phillies president Andy MacPhail in Baltimore.
The club has not confirmed the hiring, which was first reported by the Boston Globe.
Klentak has been with the Angels since the 2012 season as the assistant general manager. In Philadelphia, he'll replace Ruben Amaro Jr., who held the position from 2008-15.
