Scott Freedman, the Phillies’ Director of Baseball Operations, has left the organization, according to a source. It’s unclear if Freedman has joined another Major League organization, or if the Phillies have named an interim director.
Freedman, who joined the Phillies in 2013 as an “extern” and was later promoted to a full-time employee, had been the team’s Director of Baseball Ops since early 2016.
A request for comment from the Phillies on Tuesday went unanswered.
The move comes on the heels of the Phillies parting ways with their longtime Director of Player Development, Joe Jordan, this past September.
