Yesterday on MLB Trade Rumors, there was an article that detailed an approaching opt out date for veterans around spring training. From the author:
The 2022-26 collective bargaining agreement implemented a new series of uniform opt-out dates for players who qualified as free agents under Article XX(b) of said agreement and sign a minor league deal in free agency. More specifically, that designation falls on players with six-plus years of MLB service time who finished the preceding season on a major league roster or injured list.
The author then went on to talk about thirty-six players that this affects, but for the purposes of the Phillies, not very many of them apply to their immediate interests.
