Seranthony Domínguez was not available out of the bullpen Saturday due to right tricep tightness, interim manager Rob Thomson told reporters after the Phillies’ 4-1 win against the Mets in game two of a doubleheader.
The team got a sense that Domínguez would be unavailable on Saturday at around 11:30 a.m. after the Phillies reliever played catch in the outfield before game one. As a result, David Robertson was tasked with securing a six-out save in the nightcap. It was evident that something was up with Domínguez when he didn’t pitch the ninth after last appearing in a game on Wednesday.
