PHILADELPHIA -- Carlos Santana continued to swing a hot bat in Wednesday night's 11-3 victory over the Giants at Citizens Bank Park.
Santana picked up three hits and tied a career high with five RBIs, as the Phillies put themselves in position to sweep the four-game series against the Giants with a victory in Thursday afternoon's series finale. Maikel Franco homered in the fourth inning and finished with three hits and two RBIs.
Phillies right-hander Nick Pivetta rebounded from arguably the worst start of his career on Friday, when he lasted just 11 batters and allowed six runs in one-plus inning in a loss to the Nationals.
