Royals beat Mets, are one win from world championship

NEW YORK - Daniel Murphy's otherworldly postseason, the home run binge that propelled his New York Mets to the World Series, had subsided against the Kansas City Royals.

It took a drastic turn late in a pivotal Game 4 on Saturday night at Citi Field.

Murphy's eighth-inning fielding error loomed large when the Royals came from behind to win, 5-3, and claim a three-games-to-one lead over the Mets. Kansas City will enter Game 5 on Sunday night with a chance to clinch its second World Series title and first since 1985.

No team has overcome a 3-1 deficit to win a World Series since those 1985 Royals.
