The Colorado Rockies received another strong starting pitching performance from a young hurler, taking their 2nd straight in this weekend series from the Phillies by a 5-2 margin this afternoon at Citizens Bank Park. It was the Phillies 6th straight loss, their 9th in 11 games.
This time it was 24-year old Eddie Butler who stymied the Phils, allowing just 4 hits and a walk over 6 innings pitched. Butler (3-5) struck out 3 and allowed just a single earned run. Rockies skipper Walt Weiss then paraded five different relief pitchers out to finish off the Phils, with closer John Axford ultimately recording his 9th Save at the end.
