PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Rhys Hoskins has been named the International League MVP and Rookie of the Year, the Lehigh Valley IronPigs announced.
Hoskins is the first player in IronPigs history to win either award.
In 115 games with the IronPigs this season, Hoskins hit .284/.385/.581 with 29 homers and 91 RBI’s.
Hoskins, 24, has been on a historic hitting spree since being called up to the Phillies on August 10th. He has 11 home runs and 25 RBI’s in just 19 games played, while hitting .309/.413/.824.
