NEW YORK - Ben Revere went into the offseason believing he could turn at least a few of his 162 singles from last season into extra-base hits. A shade more than a quarter of the way into the season, the Phillies outfielder has done just that.
Revere's two-run triple in a 4-3, 10-inning loss to the New York Mets on Tuesday gave him a National League-leading four this season. Only the Kansas City Royals' Paulo Orlando (five) has more.
His seven doubles put Revere well on pace to surpass last season's total of 13, a career high he matched in 2012.
