Reports: MLB, Players Reach Deal To Begin Season

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Baseball is back! After months of back-and-forth between MLB owners and the Players Association, the two sides finally reached an agreement to start the season, according to ESPN’s Karl Ravech.

Players will begin reporting to training camp.

While official details have not been released, the league was seeking a start date around July 24 and 60 games will be played in 66 days, with the regular season wrapping up in late September.

ESPN’s Jeff Passan reports training camps will open July 1. Teams will report to their own ballparks for camp.

Phillies outfielder Bryce Harper certainly seemed thrilled.
