PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Kim Ng continues her quest to become the first female general manager in the history of American professional sports.
According to CBSSports.com’s Jon Heyman, Ng is in line for an interview with the Philadelphia Phillies. Ng, currently the senior VP of baseball operations, has interviewed for GM positions with multiple other teams.
Heyman reports that Indians executive Ross Atkins and ex-Marlins GM Larry Beinfest are the three known candidates to replace Ruben Amaro Jr. as Phillies general manager.
Ng, 46, is the highest-ranking Asian American woman in Major League Baseball.
