Reading’s season comes to an end following playoff loss to Trenton

An exciting season for the Double-A Reading Fightin Phils came to an end on Saturday night as the regular season Eastern League Eastern division champions lost their opening round playoff series against the Trenton Thunder.

The Fightins, loaded with promising Phillies prospects like catcher Jorge Alfaro, outfielder Dylan Cozens and starting pitcher Ricardo Pinto, dropped the division series three games to one in a best-of-five series with a 3-2 loss at Reading’s FirstEnergy Stadium in front of 4,912 fans.

Right-hander Tyler Viza allowed three runs (one earned) over six innings to take the loss.
