NEW YORK -- A late-season revelation who recently elbowed his way into the Phillies' everyday alignment behind speed and defensive versatility, Roman Quinn was supposed to be in Friday night's starting lineup. But he wasn't. Now the Phillies don't know when he will be again.
Quinn's status remains fluid after an X-ray revealed the outfielder has a non-displaced fracture in his right pinkie toe, Phillies manager Gabe Kapler said Saturday. Quinn sustained the injury Wednesday after fouling a ball off his foot in Miami. He does not need surgery, and he is expected to play through the injury once pain and swelling dissipates.
