Pitching may be the only cure for Phillies offensive inconsistencies

There’s no question the Phillies are a better team now than they were before the weekend began.

On Friday, Dave Dombrowski traded struggling reliever Seranthony Dominguez and Christian Pache for Austin Hays, a guy who has done exceedingly well against left-handers this season but hasn’t played much against righties in a stacked Baltimore outfield. The Phillies will try him out as an everyday player for now, with Brandon Marsh getting the bulk of the starts in center.

On Saturday, he swung another deal, this time for Angels closer Carlos Estevez, one of the best closers in the American League, for two highly-rated High-A pitching prospects.
