According to Rob Biertempfel of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, the Pirates have shown interest in obtaining Phillies outfielders Ben Revere and Jeff Francoeur. At 52-35, the Pirates have the second-best record in the NL and are in the driver’s seat for a Wild Card position while keeping within arm’s length of the first place Cardinals but have seen injuries ravage their depth chart. All-Star utility player Josh Harrison will be sidelined with a torn UCL thrusting other utility player Jung Ho Kang into the starting line-up.
