On this day 10 years ago, people across the Delaware Valley woke up to a crisp Halloween morning, not too unlike today. The hangover from two days prior – when the Phillies captured their second World Series Championship – had finally subsided and fans were ready to celebrate again. Parents pulled their kids out of school with Phillies Phever and everyone packed onto the nearest SEPTA platform. Those who made it filled the parade route along Broad and Market Streets, Lincoln Financial Field and Citizens Bank Park.
Those of us in attendance at CBP were treated with Chase Utley’s immortal words:
The entire day was filled with fun for the city of Philadelphia.
