Kyle Schwarber took Max Scherzer deep twice, but it wasn’t enough for the Philadelphia Phillies to pull out a a victory on Sunday Night Baseball over the New York Mets.
After the first five batters were struck out by Scherzer, Schwarber hit a solo home run in the top of the second inning to give the Phillies a 1-0 lead:
In the bottom of the inning, however, Eflin gave up back-to-back singles to Eduardo Escobar and Dominic Smith, followed by an RBI groundout by Starling Marte and a run-scoring double to Luis Guillorme, giving the Mets a 2-1 lead:
