Despite the Phillies trade rumors surrounding Baltimore Orioles outfielder Adam Jones, the likelihood Baltimore moves him isn’t great.
Jerry Crasnick of ESPN described the chances Baltimore moves Jones as “55-45” partially because of Jones’s no-trade right. As a 10-year veteran of MLB and having spent the last five years in Baltimore Jones has the ability to reject a trade.
Earlier this week Jon Morosi of MLB.com reported the Phillies had engaged in trade talks with the Orioles regarding the soon-to-be 33-year-old outfielder. Philadelphia’s front office is very familiar with Jones with Andy MacPhail, Matt Klentak, Joe Jordan, and Ned Rice having come from Baltimore.
