The latest Phillies trade rumor is once again connecting them to the San Francisco Giants and pitcher Madison Bumgarner.
While the Phillies are reportedly uninterested in adding a pitcher with less than a year of control, they’re reportedly scouting Bumgarner’s Sunday start.
Scott Miller of Bleacher Report tweeted Sunday that the Phillies, Yankees, Cubs, and Braves were among the clubs with scouts at the game.
San Francisco does have several other trade chips available such as relievers Tony Watson and Will Smith.
It’s still a major question whether or not the Giants are going to sell at the July 31 trade deadline after maintaining one of the best records in baseball after the all-star break.
