The Phillies announced Tuesday afternoon the team traded outfielder Darin Mastroianni, who was with Triple-A Lehigh Valley, to the Washington Nationals for cash considerations.
The trade could eventually force the ‘Pigs to add another outfielder, now that they are left with three on the roster and Domonic Brown likely leaving for Philadelphia at some point this month. They do have some flexibility since a number of players listed as infielders, can also play the outfield.
Brown's promotion could leave the door open if the Phillies want to promote the organization's fourth-best prospect, according to MLB.
