Phillies top prospects Bohm, Moniak win slugfest in Reading

Phillies fans are anxious to see some of their top prospects arrive to help the big league club, and a couple of those prospects gave us a sneak peek of what to expect.

Mickey Moniak, the first overall pick in 2016, slugged two of Reading’s five home runs Wednesday night in a walk-off win against Hartford. It was the 21-year-old’s first professional multi-home run game.

With home runs in the first and third inning, Moniak now has nine on the season with a .266 batting average.

Also homering in the game was top prospect Alec Bohm, who hit his 18th of the season and 11th for Reading.
