PHILADELPHIA -- The Phillies moved into a first-place tie in the National League East on Friday night with a 17-5 victory over the Pirates at PNC Park.
The Braves lost to the Brewers in Milwaukee, moving Philadelphia in first place for the first time since May 26, when they held the top spot in the division for only a day.
Phillies center fielder Odubel Herrera and catcher Andrew Knapp each hit three-run home runs in the victory. The club ran away in the seventh inning, posting seven runs.
