The Philadelphia Phillies have signed RHP Jon Duplantier to a minor-league deal, according to Jon Heyman of The New York Post. The deal includes an invite to big league Spring Training.
Duplantier was a third-round pick by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2016 MLB Draft out of Rice University. He appeared in 19 games for the Snakes in the 2019 and 2021 seasons — seven of which were starts — posting a 6.70 ERA and 5.18 FIP.
Back in 2018, Duplantier was ranked as the No. 1 overall prospect in the Diamondbacks organization by MLB Pipeline.
